We offer general advice regarding wills and if appropriate include the necessary certification that the will was interpreted into another language. We have many years experience of obtaining probate and administering estates promptly and efficiently.

We have experience of successfully contesting the validity of a will in the Chancery Division of the High Court.

 

OUR FEES:

All work is undertaken by Raghib Ahsan who is a solicitor qualified for over 10 years.   His hourly rate is £220.00.  The firm is not VAT registered and VAT is not payable on our fees.

Our fixed fee rates are:

Obtaining Grant of Probate/Letter of Administration only  (This covers ascertaining assets of estate;  drafting an Oath; completing tax form; dealing with Probate Registry and Department for Work and Pensions)     £800.00

Administration of the Estate (This covers obtaining probate as above plus collecting in the assets; distributing to beneficiaries and transferring property if no mortgage is involved.  This fee assumes an estate of under £325,000.00)    £1,500.00

If an estate is above £325,000.00 with inheritance tax payable our fees can vary from £1,500.00 to £8,000.00 depending on the complexity of the estate.

Disbursements may be payable in addition to our fees as follows:

Probate Registry fee    £155.00

Additional office copies of Grant   £0.50 each

Land Registry search fee   £3.00

Land Registry transfer of property fee  – this is variable but is currently £60.00 for a property worth £150,000.00.

 

Please note that if there is a material change of circumstances after a fixed fee has been agreed we may need to discuss an increased fee.  This would only be applied after agreement.

We expect straightforward probate cases to be completed within 6-8 weeks.  More complex cases can take up to 18 months.
